Day 16: Two Flippy Buns {30 Days, 30 Ways}

Day Sixteen:  Two Flippy Buns
Skill To Learn: Symmetry On Left And Right
Difficulty: Easy Peasy
Time Commitment: 10 Minutes
What You Need: Gel, Comb, 2 Fat Elastics or 2 Clear Elastics

For Day Sixteen of 30 Days, 30 Ways, we’re going to combine two skills that you have already learned: blind parting with the flippy bun that you learned on Day Eleven, to create two fun Flippy Buns on the side.  The thicker and/or longer your hair, the better this style looks, because you can not only get fullness out of the bottom loop, but also have fun with the ends that stick out the top!

 Remember, for the flippy bun, begin with a wet head and use gel your hair from the midstrand to the ends to keep the look clean and intact throughout the day.  Begin with a center part that runs all the way to the nape of your neck, and elastic one side to keep it out of the way.  Then comb all of the other side’s hair towards your ear.  (This style can be positioned over the ear, behind the ear, or below the ear to achieve different looks.  Typically, the older you are, the lower it should be.  For more on that, see the pictures about positioning here.)  Begin wrapping the hair like a ponytail, but only pull the hair through half-way on the last wrap, leaving the bun on the bottom and the flippy hair on the top.  Do the same for the other side, and remember to reapply a bit of gel to those ends, whether straight or curly, to keep them from developing frizz as they dry.   And, as you learned on Day Fourteen, you can also accessorize with cute clips or even ribbons around the anchoring elastics that will peek through the hair!  This is really one of the easiest style-and-go looks, and once you have the hang of it, you should be able to pull it up in under ten minutes and look put together and fabulous all day long!  Enjoy 🙂

See you tomorrow!

 Have a great day and remember that someone needs a ray of light today that only you can shine.
Make time for inspiration, be yourself without apology and always light your world with goodness!
