Day 13: Half Up With The Teased Bump {30 Days, 30 Ways}

Day Thirteen: Half Up With The Teased Bump
Skill To Learn: Anchoring Crossed Bobbies Blind
Difficulty: May Take a Practice Run or Two
Time Commitment: 30 Minutes
What You Need: Comb, 3-4 Bobbies

For Day Thirteen of 30 Days, 30 Ways,we are going to combine crossed bobbies with teasing your hair for a nice bump in that partial ponytail.  If you are following along with this series, then you learned Teasing 101, but here are the pictures as a reminder:

 So you want to begin by blowdrying your hair in whatever style that you want to define the finished look.  In my [humble] opinion, mid-range waves between curly and straight work best for this look.  Once your crown area is teased, gather the sides and front at the back, gently smoothing the surface hair with the wide-tooth end of your comb.  You want to follow the directions pictured below to anchor the hair with crossed bobbies.  First, twist the gathered hair and grab a piece of the hair that came from the left side with the twist, and attach it with the first bobby to the underneath hair, running it (ridge side up) from the 4 o’clock position toward the 10 o’clock position.   This bobby will run primarily underneath the twist because of the thickness of the hair.  Insert your second bobby at 7 o’clock towards 2 o’clock, again, primarily a hidden bobby, but crossing the ridges of the first and firmly driven into the root hair.  Position your third bobby on the surface parallel to the one you just put in, and again, running the bobby through the ridges of the first one.  This should flatten the bulk of the twist and secure the hair.

Lastly, finish your upstyle with a smoothing coat of hairspray and touch up the length of your hair with a curling iron or flat iron if necessary.  And everyday is a good day to add a flourish, so accumulate a stash of ribbons, bows, flowers and bedazzlement for accessorizing your wardrobe.  And this hairstyle is the perfect place to start!

Have a great day and remember that someone needs a ray of light today that only you can shine.
Make time for inspiration, be yourself without apology and always light your world with goodness!
